Starting Out

We’ve decided to try and make a go of this puzzle business.

We build wooden puzzles from domestic and exotic hardwoods. At the moment we’re concentrating on building puzzles like Soma Cubes and Pentominos. Those puzzles that are created from cubes.

To start with we’ll be offering puzzles in Maple, Cherry, Walnut, and Oak. They’ll have a wooden box of either a matching or contrasting wood.  They’ll be offered in either a “monochrome” (all the same wood) or our “calico” (3 different woods) patterns.  We can also do checkered patterns if you’d like. Our intent is to offer them in natural colors with only an oil finish on them, but if you’d like them in different colors (school colors?) then talk to us and we’ll see what we can work out.

The next type of puzzle I’ll be working out jigs for are the “burr” type puzzles. You know, the ones made of longer notched blocks of wood. We’ll have some that are monochrome and others that have symmetric coloring.
